The 1995/96 season of the Bayernliga was the 51st season of the Bayernliga soccer league and the second as the fourth-highest division in Germany. For the first time, the three-point rule was used.

The champion and promoted to the regional league was SC Weismain with a three point lead over SG Quelle Fürth . The Fürth then reached the relegation round to the Regionalliga Süd , in which they also made it up. Both teams managed to march straight through from the Landesliga Bayern via the Bayernliga to the Regionalliga.

The relegation places were occupied by TSV 1860 Rosenheim , SV Türk Gücü Munich and SSV Jahn Regensburg . The VfB Helmbrechts succeeded in the relegation round of league with the runners-up the national league Bavaria.

SpVgg Stegaurach , SG Post / Süd Regensburg and the amateurs of TSV 1860 Munich rose from the three seasons of the Bavarian State League as the respective season winners. SV Alemannia Haibach and TSV Aindling qualified as fourth and fifth promoted players in the relegation games .

Relegation round to the Bayern League

The tables 15. of the Bayern League and the runners-up of the three seasons of the Landesliga Bayern played three more places in the Bayern League after the end of the season in the KO system. The winners of the two semi-finals in a neutral place qualified directly for the Bayernliga, while the two losers in a decisive game - also in a neutral place - played off the third participant in the Bayernliga.

In the games in Sennfeld, the runner-up of the Landesliga Staffel Nord, SV Alemannia Haibach, faced Bayernliga representatives VfB Helmbrechts and the regional league champions of the Season Süd, TSV Aindling, and Mitte, TSV Schwabach 04, in Donauwörth . SV Alemannia Haibach and TSV Aindling were promoted to the Bayernliga as fourth and fifth teams, while Helmbrechts and Schwabach played the decider.
