The TSV Gersthofen is a sports club based in the Swabian town of Gersthofen in the district of Augsburg . It was founded in 1909 as the Gersthofen gymnastics club and merged with SV Eintracht Gersthofen to form TSV Gersthofen in 1934 . The association has departments in alpine sports , basketball , bocce , soccer , health Sport , Handball , in Karate , in athletics and rhythmic gymnastics , in swimming , table tennis , gymnastics and volleyball . TSV Gersthofen also has its own marching band .
Soccer
The club's men's soccer team belonged to the third-class first amateur league from 1957 to 1963 and was the Bavarian Cup champion in the 1951/52 season . In the 1980/81 season, TSV Gersthofen took part in the main round of the DFB Cup for the only time so far , but lost 1-0 at home to OSC Bremerhaven in the first round . In the 2010/11 season, a 3-1 win against SpVgg Selbitz brought promotion from the Landesliga Süd to the Bayernliga , but two years later TSV Gersthofen rose again to the Landesliga and in 2015 even to the District League Swabia .
Since October 2005, the club has been playing its games in the newly built sports arena , which since 2014 has been named "Selgros Arena" after the main sponsor Selgros .
