Mark Römer (born June 22, 1975 in Esslingen am Neckar ) is a former German soccer player.

Career

As a youth, Römer played for Eintracht Esslingen (1983 to 1992), VfB Stuttgart (1992 to 1993) and TSV Wäldenbronn-Esslingen (1993 to 1996) before moving to TSF Ditzingen in the Regionalliga Süd in 1996 . In 1998 he joined the Karlsruher SC , where he first played in the second team in the regional league. He was able to score 20 goals in 51 appearances. After the relegation of the first team of KSC to the regional league, he came there in the 2000/01 season on three missions. In October 2000 he moved to league competitor SC Pfullendorf , with whom he had to relegate at the end of the season. He remained loyal to the club in the major league and shot his team in the 2001/02 season with 23 hits for promotion. In the 2002/03 season his 22 goals helped to keep the league. In summer 2003 he moved to SpVgg Unterhaching , which had just been promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga . There he seldom appeared as a goal scorer alongside Francisco Copado . In summer 2004 he went to FC Augsburg and thus back to the regional league. With the club he reached promotion at the end of the 2005/06 season . However, he left the club and stayed in the regional league, where he was hired by FC Ingolstadt 04 . There he was hardly used in the second half of the 2006/07 season. In the 2007/08 season he played in the club's second team in the Bavarian State League . In 24 games in the 2nd Bundesliga he scored two goals for SpVgg Unterhaching and in 211 games in Regionalliga Süd he scored 76 goals.

The Bavarian national league club TSV Gersthofen signed Mark Römer in mid-October 2009. With the club, the striker made it to the Bayern League in the 2010/11 season , and in the summer of 2011 the now 36-year-old ended his career.

Mark Römer has been working as a personal trainer in Augsburg since 2009.
