Anton Hoppe (* 12. February 1889 in Mülheim on the Rhine , † 11. August 1968 in Herten ) was a German politician of the CDU .

Life

Hoppe attended a Catholic elementary school and was then trained as a locksmith. In 1914 he joined the Christian trade union movement, of which he was district leader in Recklinghausen from 1928 to 1935. In 1935, the association was forcibly dissolved by the NSDAP . From 1937 Hoppe worked as a treasurer of the Catholic church tax fund in Herten.

Hoppe made his first political experiences in the Center Party , for which he was a member of the local council until 1933. He was also the community leader and was also a member of the district council and the provincial council . From 1927 to 1933 Hoppe was an alderman in Herten. After the end of the Second World War Hoppe was among the founding members of the CDU in Westphalia and Recklinghausen. From 1946 to 1956 he was the district administrator for the Recklinghausen district . Hoppe was a member of the first and second appointed Landtag of North Rhine-Westphalia .

Following this, he was elected to the first federal parliament in the 1949 federal election by winning the direct mandate in the Recklinghausen-Land constituency. Hoppe was a full member and, since October 1951, deputy chairman of the Committee for Internal Administration. In early 1952, Hoppe became a full member of the Local Policy Committee. He was also a deputy member of the Committee on Budgets and the Committee on Legal and Constitutional Law. In 1953 he left parliament.
