Anton Kinzel

Anton Kinzel (born January 9, 1921 in Horn , Lower Austria ) is an Austrian chess player and was Vice President of the Supreme Court from 1983 to 1986 .

In 1954 he became the Lower Austrian regional champion. At the Austrian state championship in 1958 in Rif , he was second behind Alexander Prameshuber . For the Austrian national team he took part in five Chess Olympiads : 1956 , 1962 , 1966 , 1968 and 1970 with a total of 29 points from 56 games. For the 1984 Chess Olympiad he was nominated as the second reserve player, but was not used. Between 1955 and 1977 he took part in twelve Clare Benedict Cups . With him, Austria won the Cup in Neuhausen am Rheinfall in 1961 , Kinzel received an individual gold medal on the fourth board in 1961 and on the third board in 1964.

He has held the title of FIDE Master since 1983 . His highest Elo number was 2370 when the rating was introduced in July 1971. His highest historical Elo number was 2517 in June 1960. He played chess at Austria Wien .
