Anton Löhnert

Anton Adolf Löhnert (born June 17, 1906 in Wolfsberg / Sudetenland , † April 4, 1975 in Ravensburg ) was a Sudeten German SS-Untersturmführer and advisor for forced labor camps in the staff of the SSPF Galicia .

Life

Anton Löhnert was the son of a factory worker. He completed a commercial apprenticeship in a law firm and then worked as a businessman. From 1924 to 1933 he was active in the national youth movement. From 1926 to 1928 he served in the Czech army. In 1930 he became a member of the DNSAP . From 1933 to 1938 he was employed in the district and NS district leadership of the Sudeten German Party . In 1938 he was the leader of the Voluntary Protection Corps in the Opava district . On November 1, 1938, he joined the NSDAP (membership number 6,684,899) and the SS (SS number 361.909). He was then drafted into the Waffen SS and from 1939 to 1941 he was an instructor in the 14th SS Death's Head Regiment in the Buchenwald concentration camp . In April 1941 he was commanded to Warsaw , where he was deployed with the 4th SS Death's Head Regiment after the capture of Grodno . In August 1941 he was in a car accident. From November 17th he was a Jewish and ZAL advisor in the Galicia district . Löhnert received special praise for setting up the forced labor camps in the Galicia district. He was a consultant for Jewish affairs at the SS and Police Leader Galicia and as such directed the work of Jews and other prisoners. From August 1944 he was employed with the special staff "Venus" in Grybow . From February 28, 1945 he was involved in the establishment of the Werwolf organization in Danzig .

After the war Löhnert worked as a merchant and sales representative. He was arrested in 1947 and interned until July 1948. Löhnert's extradition to Poland was rejected. From August 1960 to December 1965 and from October 1966 to April 1968 he was in custody . On April 29, 1968, he was sentenced by the Stuttgart Regional Court to seven years' imprisonment, which was deemed to have been served due to his pre-trial detention.
