Anton Reiffenstuhl
Anton Reiffenstuhl , also Anton von Reiffenstuel (* 1786 in Salzburg ; † March 1, 1848 ibid) was an Austrian landscape painter from Salzburg.
life and work
Reiffenstuel inherited a tobacco factory that brought him a state pension when Salzburg was annexed to Austria (1816) so that he could devote himself entirely to his artistic work. He became a student of the Salzburg flower and still life painter Johann Matthias Wurzer (1760–1838). He created landscape pictures from Salzburg and Italy, as well as two large views of the city of Salzburg in the style of the panorama pictures by Johann Michael Sattler .
In 1832 as well as 1839 and 1840 he participated in the annual exhibitions at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna at St. Anna ,
