Anton Stocks

Anton Stocks (born June 16, 1937 - March 7, 1981 ) was a German racing car driver.

Career

Anton Stocks started his racing career in 1973 as a private driver with a Porsche 911 Carrera RS in GT motorsport. There he was able to celebrate an overall victory in the two races in Zolder and Hockenheim. In 1974 he drove a few races for STP Team Sweden with a Porsche 911 Carrera RSR 3.0 in the 1st division of the German Racing Championship (DRM), the German Automobile Circuit Cup (DARM) and other GT races. A year later he also drove for the AMC Duisburg in the DRM and in individual GT races. In his last year as a racing driver and last race, he drove a Porsche 934 in the 1st division of the DRM in Kassel-Calden for the Kannacher GT Racing Team and took sixth place. This placement was also his best result in a DRM race.

Stocks started twice in the 1000 km race on the Nürburgring. In 1974 he and Helmut Kelleners finished 18th in a Porsche 911 Carrera RS and in 1975 he and Gerhard Holup took 19th place in a Carrera RSR 3.0.
