Anton von Longo-Liebenstein

Anton Freiherr von Longo-Liebenstein (from 1919 Anton Longo, born September 10, 1853 in Klagenfurt , Austrian Empire , † January 11, 1925 in Krumpendorf ) was an Austrian physician and politician . He was a member of the Tyrolean state parliament (1892–1914).

Life

Born as the son of a district court president, von Longo-Liebenstein studied medicine in Vienna and Strasbourg . During his studies in 1871 he became a member of the Silesia Vienna fraternity . In 1876 he was promoted to Dr. med. PhD . He later worked as a general practitioner in Klagenfurt until, in the early 1890s, he took over the management of his property in Neumarkt near Bozen , where he also became a local councilor . During this time he studied for two semesters law in Vienna. From 1892 to 1914 he was a liberal member of the large estates in the Tyrolean state parliament . From 1893 to 1919 he was president and later honorary member of the Forest Association for Tyrol and Vorarlberg . With the Nobility Repeal Act , Anton Longo-Liebenstein lost the title of nobility.
