Antoni Franciszek Ksawery Sotkiewicz (lat. Antonio Francesco Saverio Sotkiewicz), (born January 12, 1826 in Bardo , Poland , † May 4, 1901 in Sandomierz ) was Bishop of Sandomierz .

Life

After school and high school he attended the seminary in Sandomierz, he studied theology at the Christian Theological Academy in Warsaw from 1846 . On 29 July 1849 he received the diaconate and on August 5, 1849 Bishop Józef Joachim Goldtman the priesthood . From 1860 he taught canon law as a professor at the Warsaw Academy. From 1877 to 1883 he was administrator of the Archdiocese of Warsaw .

On March 15, 1883 Pope Leo XIII appointed him . to the Bishop of Sandomierz. The episcopal ordination donated him on May 20, 1883 Wincenty Teofil Popiel , the Archbishop of Warsaw. He was solemnly introduced to his diocese on June 24, 1883 in the Cathedral of Sandomierz. He organized and reformed church life in his diocese.

He found his final resting place in the crypt of the Cathedral of Sandomierz.
