Stefan Aleksander Zwierowicz

Stefan Aleksander Zwierowicz (born December 6, 1842 in Wyrozenby , Powiat Siedlecki , Poland ; † January 4, 1908 in Sandomierz ) was Bishop of Vilnius (1897–1902) and Bishop of Sandomierz (1902–1908).

Life

After graduating from high school in Białystok , he entered the seminary in Vilnius , studied theology at the Theological Academy in St. Petersburg and was ordained a priest on December 2, 1869 . He was a professor and later rector of the seminary in Vilnius.

On August 2, 1897, he was appointed bishop of Vilnius. It was consecrated on November 16, 1897 by the Bishop of Sandomierz Antoni Franciszek Ksawery Sotkiewicz . Co- consecrator was Bolesław Hieronim Kłopotowski , the auxiliary bishop in Luceoria o Glück oe Zytomir Zytomierz , ( Ukraine ). On September 17, 1902, he became Bishop of Sandomierz.

He found his final resting place in the crypt of the Cathedral of Sandomierz.
