Antoni Martí Petit (born November 10, 1963 in Escaldes-Engordany ) is an Andorran politician and head of government of the Principality of Andorra from 2011 to 2019 with a short break in 2015 .

Life

Martí Petit studied architecture at the University of Toulouse . From 1994 to 2003 he was a member of the Consell General de les Valls , the parliament of Andorra. In 1997 and 2001 Martí Petit was elected as a member of the Escaldes-Engordany MP for the Partit Liberal d'Andorra . From 2003 to 2011 he was mayor of his hometown Escaldes-Engordany. In February 2011 he was elected chairman of the electoral alliance Demòcrates per Andorra . In the early elections on April 3, 2011, the Demòcrates of Andorra won an absolute majority with 20 seats. Martí Petit, who was elected on the national list, was elected as the new head of government of Andorra on May 11, 2011.

Antoni Martí Petit is married and has three children.
