Antonín Pugzík

Antonín Pugzík (born October 5, 1955 in Kladno ) is a Czech officer . He was promoted to major general on October 28, 2006 .

Pugzík attended the Air Force Officers' College (Vojenská vysoká letecká škola) in Košice from 1974 to 1978 and the Brno Military Academy from 1983 to 1986 (postgraduate studies).

In 1979 he took up a position on the staff of the 10th Air Army stationed in Hradec Králové . When the command of this large unit was transferred to the 1st Mixed Air Corps Command in October 1990 and finally to the 3rd Tactical Air Corps (which existed until 1997) in 1993, he was responsible for operational matters there. In 1998 he became Deputy Chief of Staff and in the following year Chief of Staff of the Air Force . In 2003 he switched to the support and training forces , where he initially served as chief of staff and from September 2006 as deputy commander. In 2007, following the resignation of Major General Jiří Halaška , he was briefly appointed commander before Major General František Malenínský took over this post that same year .

At the present time (2012) Pugzík is a military attaché at the Czech embassy in Greece .

In addition to his mother tongue, Pugzík speaks English and Russian. He is married and a father of two.
