Antonio Albergati

Antonio Albergati (born September 16, 1566 in Bologna , † January 13, 1634 in Bisceglie ) was an Italian Roman Catholic bishop and apostolic nuncio .

Life

Antonio Albergati was ordained a priest on August 2, 1609 .

On August 3, 1609, during the tenure of Pope Paul V , Albergati was elected Bishop of Bisceglie . He was ordained bishop on August 23, 1609 by Giovanni Garzia Mellini , Bishop of Imola ; Domenico Rivarola , Titular Archbishop of Nazareth , and Antonio d'Aquino , Bishop of Sarno , assisted as co- consecrators .

On April 26, 1610, during the pontificate of Paul V, he was called to Germany as Apostolic Nuncio .

On September 15, 1621 he was called to Portugal as apostolic nuncio , where he served until his resignation in 1624.

Albergati served as Bishop of Bisceglie until his resignation in 1627.
