Antonio Avati (born June 9, 1946 in Bologna ) is an Italian film producer and screenwriter .

Life

Avati has been working with his older brother Pupi since 1968 on his films, initially and once as an actor , then as an assistant, later as a screenwriter and from 1976 also as a producer. The following year he founded the production company AMA Film with Gianni Minervini , with which he has since financed works by Lamberto Bava , Maurizio Zaccaro and others.

In 1977 he directed the compilation film Colossal and directed an episode of Sposi in 1987 .

Avati was awarded a David di Donatello (for Fuori stagione ), once as the winner of the Montréal World Film Festival (with La via degli angeli ) and twice with the Nastro d'Argento .
