Antonio Carneo
Antonio Carneo (born November 26, 1637 in Concordia Sagittaria , † December 16, 1692 in Portogruaro ) was a Venetian painter of the Baroque .
He lived in the province of Friuli , which was then ruled by the Republic of Venice , and worked as an artist in Udine and Portogruaro.
Carneo - a painter of the Venetian school - took the famous painters Veronese , Padovanino and Tintoretto as models, but was also turned to the baroque innovations in painting, as represented by Strozzi , Liss and Feti . His coloristically outstanding works are devoted to romantic subjects executed in theatrical movement . Only a few signed pictures are known.
