Antonio Sánchez (athlete)

Antonio Sánchez (actually: Antonio Sánchez Muñoz ; born September 22, 1963 in Béjar , Salamanca province ) is a former Spanish athlete who specialized in the 400-meter run .

His greatest international success was winning the gold medal at the 1987 Mediterranean Games in Lakatia. At the European Athletics Championships in 1986 in Stuttgart he was sixth in the 400 m in a personal best of 45.41 s and at the 1990 European Athletics Championships in Split he was also sixth in the 4 x 400 meter relay . He also took part in three Summer Olympic Games and two World Athletics Championships between 1984 and 1992 , but without reaching a final.

Sánchez was also eight times Spanish champion in the 200-meter run , four times in the open air and four in the hall. Once he won the national championship title over 400 m indoors. Antonio Sánchez is 1.81 m and had a competition weight of 72 kg.
