Antonio Scontrino

Antonio Scontrino (born May 17, 1850 in Trapani , † January 7, 1922 in Florence ) was an Italian composer .

Scontrino studied from 1861 to 1870 at the Conservatory of Palermo and then in Munich . Until 1891 he performed as a double bass player . Until 1898 he was a composition teacher at the Conservatory of Palermo, then in Florence.

He composed five operas , several large orchestral pieces, a double bass -, a bassoon - and a piano concerto , four string quartets , stage music , piano pieces, choirs and songs .
