Antonio Zamara
Antonio Zamara (born April 2, 1823 in Milan , † November 12, 1901 in Vienna ) was an Austrian musician and composer.
Life
The son of an Austro-Hungarian official studied at the Conservatory in Milan , went to Vienna at the beginning of the 1840s and studied composition with Simon Sechter . From 1842 to 1892 he was a member of the court opera orchestra . As a professor at the Conservatory of the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde in Vienna , he significantly shaped the Viennese harp tradition.
His children Johanna (1854–1916), Therese (1856–1927) and Alfred (1863–1940) were also musicians.
