Alfred Zamara
Alfred Zamara (born April 28, 1863 in Vienna ; † August 11, 1940 there ) was an Austrian composer and harpist.
life and work
He was the son of the Italian musician Antonio Zamara (1823-1901), who had moved to Vienna . Like his father, Alfred Zamara became a harp professor at the Vienna Conservatory. He played at the Vienna Hofburgtheater. In 1884 he wrote the operetta The Double . Victor Léon provided the libretto. The play was premiered in Munich in 1886 at the Theater am Gärtnerplatz and adopted the following year at the Theater an der Wien .
He was buried in the Vienna Central Cemetery (group 56B, row G2, number 18).
