Antonitercitytours

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The AntoniterCityTours are a city tour program in Cologne . They were founded in 1989 as "Cologne with other eyes" and thus one of the oldest Cologne city tour programs on the market. They are named after the Antoniterkirche (Cologne) , the first church in Cologne city area, in which an evangelical church service was celebrated. As an offer from the Evangelical Community of Cologne, the AntoniterCityTours offer church tours, cemetery tours, district tours and thematic tours in and around Cologne. The addressees are not only tourists, but also Cologne residents who want to get to know their city better. In addition to the musical walks, the "How I see Cologne" tours are a special trademark, in which celebrities such as the journalist Armin Maiwald , the architect Peter Busmann , the former EKD chairman Manfred Kock , Louwrens Langevoort , director of the Cologne Philharmonic , and others convey their personal view of Cologne in dialogue with a city guide .

The city guides active in the AntoniterCityTours include the former Cologne city curator Ulrich Krings , the publicist Günter Leitner , the book authors Klaus Schmidt and Christina Bacher and the literary and cultural scientist Anselm Weyer . Annette Scholl is responsible for the conception of the AntoniterCityTours .

In addition to the city tours, numerous products have now appeared under the AntoniterCityTours label, such as brochures on places of Protestant identity, for example on the Geusenfriedhof (oldest Protestant cemetery in the Rhineland), the Protestant cemetery in Mülheim am Rhein and the Melatenfriedhof , or on people like Ina Gschlössl .

As a means of evangelical profiling as well as alternative, self-refinancing public relations work, the program aroused a lot of interest, especially in the church sector. Among other things, the city tour program AntoniterCityTours has been named project of the month by the Evangelical Church in Germany ( EKD ). The Evangelical Church District Berlin Stadtmitte, headed by Bertold Höcker, the former pastor of the Antoniterkirche Cologne as superintendent, has also started a city tour concept with "Cross Roads - Berlin with Different Eyes", which is specifically based on the AntoniterCityTours and clearly based on the slogan and in the subtitle Original name of AntoniterCityTours ("Cologne with different eyes") refers.
