Christina Bacher

Christina Bacher (born January 3, 1973 in Kaiserslautern ) is a German author and journalist for young people . She has been editor-in-chief of Germany's oldest street newspaper (“Draussenseiter”) since 2006 and - together with the historian Martin Stankowski - initiator of the “Citizens 'and Citizens' City Tours” in Cologne.

Life

Christina Bacher studied German and European Ethnology in Marburg , Bonn and Montpellier . After completing her studies, she worked as an editor, PR consultant and press spokesperson for publishers before she devoted herself increasingly to writing youth crime stories and novels. Together with the journalist and author Ulrich Noller, she developed the youth crime series “Bolle und die Bolzplatzbande” for Hessischer Rundfunk , which was later published as a book series. For the conception and editorial management of the magazine NIRI-NEWS for children with kidney disease and their family on behalf of Nephrokids eV, she was awarded the Innovation Prize for Disability Policy of the City of Cologne in 2009.

From August 2012 to May 2014, Bacher and the author Sabine Schiffner worked as part of a scholarship for one year in the Scriptorium at the AntoniterCityKirche in downtown Cologne . In September 2013 she received a scholarship from "Tatort Töwerland" on Juist. In 2013 and 2019, she was also a juror for the Hans-Jörg-Martin Prize / Glauser Prize, which is awarded by the SYNDIKAT authors' association for the best children's and young adult thriller. In July 2020 she was awarded the special fund of the Kunststiftung NRW for her artistic idea "Limited - Unlimited - Excluded. Giving the poorest of the poor a voice".

Christina Bacher lives and works in Cologne . She is married and has two kids.
