Marjorie Chibnall

Marjorie MacCallum Chibnall (born 1914 in Atcham in Shropshire , † June 23, 2012 in Sheffield ) was an English historian , medievalist and translator from Latin . She was an Ermerit Fellow (Clare Hall) and Honorary Professor ( Girton College ) at Cambridge University . She previously taught at the University of Southampton and the University of Aberdeen and was a research fellow at Oxford University ( Lady Margaret Hall ). In 1978 she became a member (fellow) of the British Academy .

Marjorie Chibnall worked mainly on Norman England, her main work is the translation of Ordericus Vitalis ' Historia Ecclesiastica into English.
