Antonius (Schaumburg)

Antonius von Holstein-Pinneberg (* 1439 - † December 22, 1526 ) ruled the county of Holstein-Pinneberg and the ancestral county of Schauenburg from 1498 to 1526.

He was the second youngest son of Otto II von Holstein-Pinneberg and Elisabeth von Hohnstein . His first marriage was to Sophia von Sachsen-Lauenburg and his second marriage to Anna von Schönburg . Both marriages remained childless.

He ruled Holstein-Pinneberg and the county of Schauenburg from 1474 to 1492 together with his brother Erich and from 1492 to 1498 with his brother Otto III. After the two parts of the county separated, he ruled Schauenburg (Schaumburg) from 1498 to 1526 together with his youngest brother Johann IV . Anton was the driving force behind modernizing the county's administration during his reign.
