Johann IV. (Schaumburg)

Johann IV. Von Holstein-Pinneberg (* 1449 ; † March 30, 1527 ) was the ruling Count of Holstein-Pinneberg .

He was the youngest son of Otto II von Holstein-Pinneberg and Elisabeth von Hohnstein and followed his brother Otto III. 1498 as regent in the Stammgrafschaft Schaumburg together with his brother Anton . As Otto III. died in 1510, Johann ruled together with Anton also as regent of the county of Holstein-Pinneberg; he ruled this alone from 1526 to 1527.

He was married to Kordula von Gemen († May 30, 1528). This marriage brought the house of Schauenburg to rule Gemen in 1492 . The couple had the following children:

  • Jobst I. (* 1483; † June 5, 1531) ∞1. February 1506 Countess Maria von Nassau-Dietz (* 1491; † 1547), daughter of Johann V von Nassau .
