Antonio Maria Gianelli
Antonio Maria Gianelli (born April 12, 1789 in Cerreta , † June 7, 1846 in Piacenza , Italy) was an Italian founder and bishop . He is venerated as a saint in the Roman Catholic Church .
Life
Gianelli was ordained a priest in 1812 . In 1815 he became professor of rhetoric in Carcare , from 1816 he taught in Genoa. In Chiavari he was dean from 1826 . There he founded the Figlie di Maria Santissima dell'Orto congregation in 1829 , which is named after him as Gianelline . The sisters devote themselves to nursing and bringing up girls . In 1838 he was appointed Bishop of Bobbio . Another foundation was that of the Oblates of St. Alfons di Liguori . Pope Pius XI beatified him on April 19, 1925, Pope Pius XII. Holy on October 21, 1951.
