Antony Kidman

Antony David Kidman (born December 10, 1938 in Sydney , † September 12, 2014 in Singapore ) was an Australian psychologist and biochemist .

Life

Kidman was Head of the Health Psychology Unit at the University of Technology, Sydney . One focus of his more than 30 years of research was the psycho-oncological treatment of patients with breast cancer . Most recently, he dealt with the psychosocial effects of cyber bullying . He was involved in more than 153 scientific publications in specialist magazines and author of several specialist books. In 2005 he was awarded the Order of Australia for his services to the health system in Australia .

With his wife Janelle, Kidman had two daughters, the actress Nicole Kidman (* 1967) and the journalist and producer Antonia Kidman (* 1970). He died as a result of a fall on September 12, 2014 while visiting his younger daughter in Singapore.
