Antouman Saho

Antouman Saho is a politician and diplomat in the West African state of Gambia .

Life

Saho initially served in the Gambian army up to the rank of major in the naval unit. After the military coup of 1994 he became the first ambassador of the Gambia to the Republic of China (Taiwan) . He held this office from 1995 to 1997. After that he was High Commissioner in Senegal until 2001 and then until 2002 High Commissioner in Sierra Leone. From 2003 to 2004 he served as ambassador to Guinea-Bissau , after which he was ambassador to the United Arab Emirates . He was also the mayor of Banjul .

On 11 June 2009 Kah was by President Yahya Jammeh to the Cabinet as Minister of Fisheries, Water Resources and Affairs of the National Assembly ( English Minister of Fisheries, Water Resources and National Assembly Matters ) to succeed Yankuba Touray called.

On February 4, 2010, Saho was replaced by Lamin Kaba Bajo . After being arrested and detained for three months, he was arrested again a week after he was released. The reasons for the arrests have not been officially explained - the media speculates about drug trafficking.
