Antti Everi

Antti Everi (born December 22, 1981 in Huittinen ) is a Finnish weightlifter in the super heavyweight division .

Antti Everi grew up in Pori , where he began lifting weights, inspired by Kaarlo Kangasniemi and Jouni Grönman . He graduated from Tampere University of Technology and now works as an IT expert in Helsinki.

He is active at the Tampereen Pyrintö club and has been the most successful Finnish weightlifter in recent years. His personal best is 375 kg (174 kg / 204 kg). In 2008 he was nominated for participation in the Summer Olympics in Beijing .

His sister Anna-Maria, who is five years younger than him, also practices weightlifting as a competitive sport; she was sixth in the 63 kg class at the EM 2012.
