Antymos Apostolis

Antymos Apostolis (born September 25, 1954 as Anthimos Apostolis in Siemianowice Śląskie , Poland) is a Polish blues and fusion guitarist of Greek origin.

In 1971 he was a founding member of the rock band SBB , with whom he also appeared at international concerts and festivals and accompanied the legendary rock star of Poland, Czesław Niemen . After the dissolution of SBB, he worked with the groups Dżem and Krzak (album Ściepka , 1981). He left Poland in the mid-1980s and emigrated to Greece. He worked there as a studio musician , where he also recorded records with Vangelis Katsoulis and worked with Giorgos Dalaras and Papadopoulos Thimios. He returned to Poland regularly and recorded several albums with the jazz musician Tomasz Stańko : COCX , Lady Go , Peyotl - Witkacy and Chameleon . In 1994 he recorded his debut album in New York under his own name.

Today he appears again with the re-established band SBB , has a jazz trio in Greece under the name TRIAS and in Poland the jazz trio Apostolis Anthimos Trio .
