Anu Tali

Anu Tali (born June 18, 1972 in Tallinn ) is an Estonian conductor .

life and career

In 1997 she founded the Nordic Symphony Orchestra (formerly the Estonian- Finnish Symphony Orchestra ) with her twin sister Kadri , which she conducts today. Musicians from 15 nations play in the orchestra. Anu Tali initially trained as a pianist in Tallinn , after which she studied at the Estonian Music Academy and at the master class in St. Petersburg as well as attending the St. Petersburg State Conservatory. In summer 2006 she made her debut with a production of Carmen at the Savonlinna Opera Festival .

Her sister Kadri looks after her and the orchestra as a manager.

Anu Tali has been Music Director of the Sarasota Orchestra in Sarasota , a US city with a county seat and university in the US state of Florida, since 2013 .
