Trechwitz is a village with 365 inhabitants, located between Fläming and Havelland , and belongs as a district to the municipality of Kloster Lehnin in the state of Brandenburg , Potsdam-Mittelmark district .
history
For the first time Trechwitz was mentioned in 1186 and was one of the monastery villages of the Cistercian - Monastery Lehnin . The Trechwitz Church was built by the architect and builder Georg Wenzeslaus von Knobelsdorff , who also built the Sanssouci Palace in Potsdam . In 1645 Trechwitz came into the possession of the von Pfuel family .
The oldest bell (cast in 1180) in the state of Brandenburg rings in the church tower . The baptismal angel "floating" in the church is said to be the most beautiful in Brandenburg .

Trechwitz was incorporated into Lehnin Monastery on October 26, 2003 .
Events
The Trechwitz trek meeting takes place every two years on the first weekend of September . Tractor drivers from all over Germany travel to this place to put their driving skills to the test in sporting competitions. Record visitor numbers of around 7000 were already recorded. It starts in two categories: self-made tractors and oldtimers.
For the Trechwitz Easter fire , the Freizeit- und Jugendverein e. V. erected a building.
