The Apostolic Prefecture of Dessie ( lat. : Apostolica de praefectura Dessie ) was in what is now Ethiopia situated Roman Catholic Apostolic Prefecture based in Dessie .

history

The Apostolic Prefecture Dessié was on March 25, 1937 by Pope Pius XI. established with the Apostolic Constitution Quo in Aethiopiae from cessions of territory of the Apostolic Vicariate Abyssinia . On October 31, 1951, the Apostolic Prefecture Dessié by Pope Pius XII. dissolved and the territory was annexed to the Apostolic Exarchate Addis Ababa.

In 1950 there were 250 Catholics living in the area of ​​the Apostolic Prefecture Dessié. The Apostolic Prefecture was divided into two parishes and had three priests .

The only Apostolic Prefect was Costanzo Bergna OFM .
