history

Appersdorf is documented as a parish in 1326. In 1358, the Regensburg bishop Friedrich gave his right of patronage to the parish to the monastery chapter. The pilgrimage to Appersdorf began around 1720 due to a miraculous spring. A shepherd, blinded by a branch that struck him in the eye, called on Our Lady for help in his distress. At their behest, he washed his eyes at the spring in Appersdorf and saw again. Out of gratitude he put a votive plaque on a tree, later a wooden chapel was built here and finally the current Bründl Chapel in 1788.

The village of Appersdorf belonged to the Siegenburg henchman's office of the Vohburg district court. When the Kingdom of Bavaria was reorganized, the Appersdorf tax district was assigned to the newly established Abensberg Regional Court . In 1838 Appersdorf consisted of 22 houses. The municipality of Appersdorf, which belonged to the district of Mainburg , was incorporated into the municipality of Ratzenhofen on January 1, 1972 as part of the regional reform in Bavaria , which was renamed the municipality of Elsendorf in 1985.
