The April SA (proper spelling: April ), based in Lyon is a publicly traded French company of the insurance industry . According to its own information, the group of companies is the leading insurance broker in France and the market leader for travel insurance in Latin America , France and Slovenia (as of April 2016).
Founded in 1988, the group consists of more than 45 companies worldwide and employs over 3800 people in 31 countries. In 2017 the turnover was 928.4 million euros. The holding of the April Group (April Group) listed on the Euro Euronext Paris (Segment B: Mid Caps ).
Shareholder structure
As of December 31, 2016, the company's founder Bruno Rousset (* 1956) owned around 64% of the share capital and over 77% of the voting rights (indirectly through Evolem SA, which he wholly owns). Around 14% of the shares with around 9% of the voting rights were in free float . Furthermore, Fidelity Investments owned just over 8% of the share capital with just over 5% of the voting rights. All other shareholders each held less than 5% of the shares and 3% of the voting rights.
April Germany
The company, founded in 2001 as Febs AG in Germany, has been part of the French group of companies since July 2005. From September 2007 it operated as April Financial Services AG , since 2012 it has been operating as April Deutschland AG , based in Haar (near Munich) . According to the company, April Germany employs around 50 people, recently generated sales of more than 5 million euros and looked after around 700,000 insured persons (as of April 2016).
