Arab American Vehicles ( AAV ) is an Egyptian automobile manufacturer with headquarters in Cairo . AAV is a joint venture of the Arab Organization for Industrialization (51% stake) and the American Chrysler LLC (49%).

history

After it was founded in 1977, the company began producing military vehicles on December 14, 1978. These models of the CJ series were sold to the military in Egypt and other Arab countries. Other models were Wagoneer, AM720, Wrangler and Cherokee. Tractors as well as models and brands such as Ritmo , Polonez , Suzuki , Peugeot , Kia , Citroën , Hyundai and Komodo (Automotivr Gate) were also assembled . The J8 has been in production since 2008 . The Jeep Cherokee is assembled for civilian customers .

By 2009, the company had produced 40,655 Jeep vehicles and 39,737 units from other makes and models. In 2008, the company had 680 employees who manufacture up to 17,600 vehicles per year with a share of domestic components of 45 to 47%.

AAV has also been manufacturing Toyota models since 2012.
