Arab Nations Cup 1998

In 1998 the Arab Nations Cup was played for the seventh time. This competition was held in Qatar . The venue was Qatar's capital Doha . The Saudi Arabian team won this title for the first time. The teams played against each other in a league system in two groups. The group's best moved into the knockout round.

qualification

  • There were 4 qualification groups, divided by geographic region: the Levant , the Gulf , the Red Sea and North Africa . The following teams qualified:
Levant Jordan , Syria , Lebanon
Red Sea Sudan
Persian Gulf Kuwait , United Arab Emirates
North africa Algeria , Libya
