Gottfried the roller of giltstein (* around 1280 ; † before 1346 ) was a knight in giltstein . He was the last local nobleman from Gälstein.

Document mentions

The oldest document in which Gottfried the scooter from Validstein occurs comes from 1314. In it he is listed among others as a witness to a sale of goods to the Count Palatine of Tübingen . Another document from 1315 begins: "I roller Mr. Mahtholfs blessed sunanz Ritterz von Giltstein". On April 23, 1315 he sold to Anselm von Liebenzell 12 Malter rye Valid from free goods in Jesingen for 30 lb. h . Anselm of Love Zell and his wife Adelheid already sold on September 28, 1323 to the Holy Deckenpfronn this court to Jesingen they had bought from the scooter from Gültstein to 32½ pounds unversprochener Heller .

On March 17, 1328, Gottfried the Roller from giltstein and his wife Kunigunde sold Count Rudolf and Konrad to the Scheerern von Tübingen all their goods and people at giltstein for 500 lb. H. On the same day, his wife Kunigunde waived her claims against gilt before a district judge and six knights.

From this point on, he no longer calls himself after what he owned, but only "the scooter". The nickname "the roller" thus becomes a gender name, but initially with the addition of "the", as was often observed at the beginning of the 14th century.

He was a son of Mahtholf von giltstein. The power wolves of Validstein are first mentioned in a document in 1125.

  • Hedwig at (1346)

  • Machtolf d. J. (around 1346)
