The working group of cooperative partial payment banks e. V. (AGT) is a banking association for cooperatively organized partial payment banks based in Brühl .

history

At the end of 1949 there were already around 50 installment credit institutions in the young Federal Republic of Germany , of which in September 1949 the majority were part of the Düsseldorfer Wirtschaftsverband Teilzahlungsbanken e. V. had merged.

The working group of cooperative partial payment banks e. V. was founded one year later on September 9, 1950 by 12 cooperative partial payment banks and registered in the form of a registered association . The aim was to promote the business and tax exchange of experience among the members, to organize and carry out joint advertising campaigns and to represent common interests vis-à-vis authorities and the public. The establishment was necessary because the German Cooperative Association ( Schulze-Delitzsch ) e. V. was increasingly less able to represent the interests of cooperative installment banks, which increasingly focused their lending business on the disbursement of freely available funds to borrowers , which intensified competition with the Volksbanks, which in turn also concentrated on the small loan business .

For many years, the association's chairman of the board was Leo Verheugen , on whose initiative Brühler Bank eG was founded in the year it was founded. He was followed by his son Bodo Verheugen, brother of the politician Günter Verheugen .

In 2013 AGT belonged to 18 credit institutions, including Brühler Kreditbank eG, CB Credit-Bank GmbH (since 2011 CB Bank GmbH ; subsidiary of Volksbank Straubing ), Kreditbank Segeberg eG, TEBA Kreditbank GmbH & Co. KG and Waren- Kredit-Gesellschaft Neumünster eG.

Comparable associations of installment credit institutions are or were the Wirtschaftsverband Teilzahlungsbanken e. V. and the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Kundenkredit-Gesellschaft e. V. , both based in Düsseldorf, the ORGAN Arbeitsgemeinschaft der WKV Teilzahlungsbanken e. V. , based in Munich and with an office in Berlin , the Banking Association for Consumer and Commercial Special Loans (BKG) e. V. in Bonn and the working group of credit banks in the automotive industry in Rüsselsheim .
