The Volksbank Straubing eG is a German cooperative bank based in the Bavarian Straubing .
history
On June 19, 1904, the Volksbank Straubing was founded by 17 Straubing citizens in the hall of the Dietl'schen Brewery as the “Straubinger Handwerker-Kreditgenossenschaft” to raise the funds necessary for the members' business and economy. From 1911 the bank operated as a commercial bank before the name was changed to Volksbank in 1964 .
In 1904, the business premises were housed in the house of the master locksmith and board member Jakob Fischer at Burggasse 16. At that time, an hour was sufficient as daily business time. From 1907 onwards, banking was carried out in a municipal building at Fraunhoferstraße 11. In 1936 the current office building on Ludwigsplatz was bought and, after renovation, moved into on September 26, 1937.
From its foundation until 1946, Josef Schefbeck was a member of the supervisory board.
Offices
The business area of Volksbank Straubing extends in the administrative districts of Lower Bavaria and Upper Palatinate across the six districts of Straubing-Bogen , Landshut , Deggendorf , Cham , Regensburg , Schwandorf and the independent city of Straubing. In addition to the 22 branches in the region, Volksbank Straubing has also been offering an online branch since December 2013.

- Today's CB Bank GmbH was founded on August 18, 1972 as Straubinger Kleinkreditbank VOBA Financing GmbH & Co.KG (SKB). It mainly offers credit transactions. The partner is SR BankbeteilungsGmbH (100% subsidiary of Volksbank Straubing eG).
- VOBA Immobilien Ostbayern GmbH was founded in 1980 and has been a member of the German Real Estate Association for more than 20 years.
- VOBA Versicherungsdienst GmbH was founded on November 3rd, 1971 and mediates and looks after personal and property insurance.
criticism
There was media criticism in 1997 about the practice of pre-financing wage tax by the nationwide subsidiary CB Credit-Bank GmbH , which changed its name to CB Bank GmbH in 2011 .
