Johann Josef Schefbeck (born July 21, 1859 in Straubing ; † February 1, 1946 there ) was a German politician (center).

Live and act

Josef Schefbeck was born as one of eight children of a Straubing master baker . After attending the trade school in Straubing, he was trained as a baker in his parents' company and then, from 1876 to 1878, in companies in Augsburg , Nuremberg , Frankfurt, Stuttgart and Dresden . In 1878 Schefbeck took over the management of his parents' business before completely taking over the business in 1883. In 1895 he founded the compulsory baker's guild, in which he held the post of chief master until at least 1919.

From 1904 to 1946 Schefbeck was a member of the supervisory board of the Gewerbebank Straubing , in 1909 he became the city councilor. From 1907 to 1912 Schefbeck was a member of the Reichstag for the 2nd Lower Bavarian constituency of Straubing. He was also a member of the Lower Bavaria Chamber of Crafts. From 1905 to 1918 Schefbeck also sat in the Bavarian Chamber of Deputies , then from 1919 to 1920 and again from 1924 to 1928 in the Bavarian State Parliament . From January 1919 to June 1920, Schefbeck was a member of the Center Party for constituency 25 (administrative districts of Upper Palatinate and Lower Bavaria) in the Weimar National Assembly .
