Arborio ( Piedmontese : Arbeu ) is a municipality with 863 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the Italian province of Vercelli (VC) in the Piedmont region . It is named for the arborio rice grown in the area , the most famous Italian rice variety along with Carnaroli and Vialone.

Neighboring municipalities are Ghislarengo , Greggio , Landiona , Recetto , Rovasenda , San Giacomo Vercellese , Sillavengo , Vicolungo and Villarboit . The patron saint is the apostle Peter ( San Pietro ).
