Fobello ( Piedmontese Fobél or Fobeli ) is an Italian municipality with 186 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Vercelli (VC), Piedmont region and is the holder of the Bandiera Arancione of the TCI .

The place is 80 km from the provincial capital Vercelli in the Valsesia at an average altitude of 873 m above sea level. M. above sea level. history

The origin of the place goes back to the first half of the 14th century, when the shepherds living in this area settled down. According to an old legend, the name Fobello, in the local dialect Fubell or Fo Bel , comes from the mighty beeches (Italian: faggio ) that can be found in this area. The entire region was settled by Walsers in the Middle Ages , who left their mark on the local dialect and through typical buildings.

Attractions

In the village there are some houses from the 17th and 18th centuries with richly painted facades. The parish church of San Giuseppe and the chapel of San Bernardo are also interesting.
