Arby's is a fast food chain , which in 1964 in Boardman in the US state of Ohio was founded. In 2008 the company had 3,756 restaurants worldwide.

The name Arby’s is derived from the initials of the founding siblings Leroy and Forrest Raffel ( R affel B rothers). At the same time, RB also stands for roast beef , the chain's specialty. The menu at the first Arby's restaurant consisted only of roast beef sandwiches , potato chips and drinks. Today the range has been greatly expanded, including chicken sandwiches, tortilla varieties, salads and other products such as mozzarella sticks . Arby's also offers breakfast.

The difference to the burgers of other well-known fast food chains is that Arby's burgers consist of roast beef or poultry slices that are baked for hours on a low heat and then sliced instead of minced patties . At Arby's, the french fries that are obligatory with the burgers are not conventionally cut into strips , but marinated potato spirals ( curly fries ). With these and other differences, Arby's wants to stand out from other fast food providers.

Arby's became part of the Wendy's / Arby's Group in 2008 . 2011 Arby's and Wendy's were again separated and a controlling interest of 81.5% of Arby's to Roark Capital Group sold that for 430 million dollars paid.
