history

Around 1625 the two-storey house with a gable roof was built in the Stephaniviertel as a Renaissance building . The brick masonry consists of stones in the format 28 × 14.6 × 9.2 cm. A splendid entrance portal made of sandstone with rich decorations leads into the community center. Angel and lion heads decorate the semicircle archivolte . In the garment there are dough curls and angel figures in the spandrels . The head inscription above the door reads:

"MAN, YOU ARE MY STRONG VNDE POWER AND MY REFUGE IN EMERGENCY".

Around 1730, the baroque lounges made of sandstone were added on the sides.

In 1880 there were 16 people in the Bremen address book under the address Geeren 41 or 43, one of whom ran a wine and beer hall in house number 41. In 1910 No. 41 was a packing house and No. 43 was a warehouse. In 1926 further renovations and alterations took place, from 1928 the double house was a metalworking plant for the municipal power station with an apartment for a switch manager, later until 1984 a training center for the energy companies. In 1985 the interior was converted for the Chamber of Architects according to plans by the architect Gert Schulze .

The building was placed under monument protection in 1973 as a Bremen cultural monument.
