Architectural illustrator

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

An architectural illustrator , also known as a 3D artist , is an artist who develops realistic images ( architectural rendering ) of architectural projects. The created visualizations or architectural animations are used today in the planning, development and marketing process to present and simulate ideas before the actual conclusion or to communicate them to customers, owners, committees or the general public. Architectural models are often used in presentations, fundraising events, sales pitches, and approval meetings.

Content

Architecture illustrators are often hired by marketing agencies to translate less complex concepts or objects into reality. The illustrator models a building in all relevant details in a visual 3D representation that can be rotated or animated in space. Projects of greater complexity usually require a team consisting of several illustrators who split the work steps from modeling, rendering to post-production , as well as project managers who organize these and ensure precise communication of the content to the client.

software

Special software solutions are used to obtain final versions of an architectural structure. These mainly include programs from the industry leader Autodesk , but also graphics programs from Adobe , which are used to optimize details and effects of visualizations as part of post-production . The widespread use takes place via software in areas of visualization such as B. AutoCAD and Revit (modeling), 3ds Max (rendering) and Adobe Photoshop (stylistic post-processing and integration of elements such as people, backgrounds of landscapes).
