Ari Ichihashi
Ari Ichihashi ( Japanese 市橋 有 里 , Ichihashi Ari ; born November 22, 1977 in Naruto , Tokushima Prefecture ) is a former Japanese long-distance runner who had her greatest successes in the marathon .
She made her debut on this track at the age of 19 and finished fourth in the 1997 Nagoya Marathon in 2:29:50. At the Tokyo International Women's Marathon 1998 she finished second in 2:28:29 and qualified for the 1999 World Athletics Championships in Seville , where she won the silver medal behind Jong Song-ok (PRK) and ahead of Lidia Șimon in her personal best of 2:27:02.
In the marathon of the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney she finished 15th in 2:30:34.
