Arialdus
Arialdus or Arialdo Alicatus (* around 1000 near Como , today Italy ; † June 27, 1066 on Lake Maggiore ) is a saint of the Roman Catholic Church , a deacon in the region around Milan during his lifetime .
Life
Arialdus was a well-educated deacon who made special efforts in his field ministry for moral and moral renewal. In the middle of the 11th century, he and like-minded people founded the Pataria popular movement , which had set itself the goal of reforming piety among the population. Arialdus was murdered on June 27, 1066 by opponents of this renewal effort. The cultic veneration of Arialdus was approved by Pope Pius X on July 13, 1904 . His feast day is June 27th.
