Aris Alexander Blettenberg

Aris Alexander Blettenberg (* 1994 in Mülheim an der Ruhr ) is a German pianist , composer and conductor .

Life

Blettenberg grew up as the son of German-Greek parents in Mülheim an der Ruhr, where he received his first piano lessons at the municipal music school at the age of seven. He studied piano with Antti Siirala and conducting with Bruno Weil at the University of Music and Theater in Munich and at the Mozarteum in Salzburg . He is currently studying piano in the solo class of Prof. Lars Vogt at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media . He made his debut as a soloist in 2011 with members of the Duisburg Philharmonic in the Mercatorhalle .

He is the winner of national and international competitions, most recently he won 1st prize at the Hans von Bülow Competition in Meiningen (2015). He is also a scholarship holder of the German National Academic Foundation . His published compositions are performed and broadcast across Europe. In 2012 his hometown of Mülheim an der Ruhr awarded him the Ruhr Prize for Art and Science . He attended master classes a. a. with Matti Raekallio and Wladimir Jurowski .
