Armatocereus rupicola is a species of plant in the genus Armatocereus from the cactus family(Cactaceae). The specific epithet rupicola is derived from the Latin words rupes for 'rocks' or 'cliff' and -cola for 'inhabiting' and refers to the occurrence of the species between rocks.

Armatocereus rupicola grows tree-shaped and reaches heights of 4 to 5 meters. The branched, upright, stiff, green to gray-green shoots are divided into 25 to 40 centimeters long segments. There are six to eight ribs . The straight thorns are black or dark gray. The four to eight central spines have a length of 0.3 to 2 centimeters. The ten to twelve needle-shaped radial spines are lighter and 2 to 6 millimeters long.
The white flowers appear on the shoot tips and are 8.5 inches long.
Distribution and systematics
Armatocereus rupicola is common in the Peruvian region of Cajamarca .
It was first described in 1981 by Friedrich Ritter . The species is not well known. It could be identical to Armatocereus mataranus .
